How We Collect, Use, Share, and Protect Personal Information
Upper Valley Advance, LLC ("Upper Valley Advance," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit https://uvadvance.com or its subdomains, contact us, place an order, request or receive a technology service, or otherwise interact with us.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Contact and account information may include name, email address, telephone number, mailing or billing address, account identifiers, communication preferences, and information submitted through a form, account, consultation, order, or support request.
1.2 Transaction and service information may include products or services requested, estimates, work orders, invoices, payment status, appointment information, device type, serial number or other device identifier, reported symptoms, service history, and communications.
1.3 Website and technical information may include Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages or features used, date and time, approximate location derived from an IP address, cookie or similar identifiers, and security or diagnostic logs.
1.4 Information encountered during service may include credentials, device configuration, network information, logs, filenames, folders, communications, images, documents, backups, or other content stored on or accessible through a device or account. We seek to access only what is reasonably necessary for the authorized service, but incidental access can occur.
1.5 Payment processors may collect payment-card or bank information directly. We generally receive transaction status, identifiers, and limited billing details rather than complete payment credentials.
1.6 We may receive information directly from you, automatically from the website or device involved in service, from a person you authorize, and from vendors or service providers involved in payment, scheduling, hosting, shipping, warranty, or technical support.
2. How We Use Information
2.1 We use information to respond to inquiries; provide estimates; schedule, authorize, diagnose, perform, document, and support services; process orders and payments; deliver or return equipment; and maintain service, warranty, accounting, and tax records.
2.2 We may use information to authenticate access, prevent fraud or abuse, secure systems, troubleshoot the website, improve services, enforce governing terms, comply with law, respond to legal process, and establish or defend legal claims.
2.3 We may send transactional or service-related communications. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable law.
2.4 When consent is the basis for processing, you may withdraw consent, but withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing and may prevent us from completing a requested service that requires the information.
3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
3.1 The website may use cookies, local storage, pixels, logs, and similar technologies that are necessary for site operation, security, shopping-cart or account functions, preferences, and measurement of site performance.
3.2 Browser or device controls may allow you to block or delete cookies. Doing so may prevent certain website, account, checkout, or preference features from working correctly.
4. How We Share Information
4.1 We may share information with processors and service providers that support payment processing, website or data hosting, communications, scheduling, accounting, shipping, security, remote support, or other business operations. They receive information reasonably necessary for their role.
4.2 At your request or when reasonably necessary for an authorized service, we may share information with manufacturers, vendors, warranty providers, software providers, carriers, or another person you direct.
4.3 We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process; protect rights, safety, property, users, or systems; investigate fraud or misuse; enforce governing terms; or support a merger, financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer of all or part of the business, subject to applicable safeguards.
4.4 We may share information with your consent or as otherwise disclosed when the information is collected.
5. Data Minimization, Security, and Breach Response
5.1 We seek to collect and use information that is adequate, relevant, and reasonably necessary for the disclosed purpose.
5.2 We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature and volume of information. No transmission, remote session, device, or storage method is completely secure.
5.3 If a security incident requires notice under applicable law, we will provide required notice to affected individuals and governmental authorities.
6. Data Retention
6.1 We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and support services; maintain warranty, transaction, tax, accounting, security, and business records; comply with law; resolve disputes; and enforce agreements.
6.2 Retention varies by information type and legal or operational need. When information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete, destroy, or de-identify it, subject to backup cycles, technical limitations, legal holds, and lawful recordkeeping duties.
7. Privacy Choices and Requests
7.1 Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to confirm processing; access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information; opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; withdraw consent; and appeal a denied request.
7.2 Submit a request or appeal to support@uvadvance.com or by using the contact information below. Describe the request and provide enough information for us to reasonably verify identity and locate the relevant records. We will not require creation of a new account solely to make a request.
7.3 Where New Hampshire RSA 507-H or another privacy law applies, we will respond within the time and manner that law requires. Some requests may be denied or limited when an exemption applies, identity cannot reasonably be verified, records must be retained by law, or fulfilling the request would adversely affect another person's rights.
7.4 We will not unlawfully discriminate against a person for exercising an applicable privacy right. An authorized agent may submit a request when applicable law permits, subject to reasonable verification of the agent's authority.
8. Children's Privacy
8.1 Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from a child under 13 without legally required authorization. If you believe a child submitted information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
9. Third-Party Sites and Services
9.1 A link to or use of a third-party website, application, payment service, account, or product is governed by that provider's privacy policy and terms. Upper Valley Advance does not control the provider's independent data practices.
10. Changes to This Policy
10.1 We may revise this Policy prospectively. The current version will display a new issue and Last Revised date. When applicable law requires additional notice or consent for a material change, we will provide it.
11. Relationship to Other Documents
11.1 This Privacy Policy exclusively controls collection, use, retention, and disclosure of personal information. A service authorization permits only the access reasonably necessary for the authorized service and another purpose disclosed in this Policy.
11.2 If two documents directly conflict, they control only within their assigned subject matter: a Service Order controls the expressly stated scope, price, and service-specific terms; the Technology Services Agreement controls performance of technology services, authorization, payment, and service-related liability; the Technology Services Guarantee controls eligibility, claims, and remedies under the 30-day limited guarantee; the Coupon Use and Exclusions Policy controls promotional coupons; the Privacy Policy controls collection, use, retention, and disclosure of personal information; and the Terms of Service govern general website use and any matter not addressed by a more specific document. A Service Order overrides another document only when it expressly identifies the provision being changed. Rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be waived remain controlling.
